Oxford were determined to end their season with a win in front of their enthusiastic home crowd and were able to match Sloughs numbers on the bench. Two second period goals in quick succession (both in the 24th minute) posted the warning signs for the visitors who were unable to fins a way past Miller in Oxfords goal. The Jets only goal was , unusually, scored shorthanded as Clark sat a 'hooking' penalty, and although they continued to create good scoring choices, Oxfords determination and speed provided too big a hurdle for the Jets to overcome. Goals from Man of the Match Stephens and Hind-Pitcher, both with two-way contracts with Bristol Pitbull's (as have 4 of the Jets players) and a powerplay goal from Oliver secured the win in the final period. Following a brief 'rest', all eight teams in Division 1 South will progress to League quarter finals on the weekend of April 1st and 2nd with the semis and final taking place at Milton Keynes over the Easter Weekend. *We know that Slough Jets will play Romford Raiders home and away as 3rd place v 6th place.
